Sumika garners another honor: All-NorCal Honorable Mention

Sumika earns SJMN All-CCS Honorable Mention

At the State meet, Sumika finished 19th in Div 3 with a time of  18:57.
She was the 5th fastest of 33 from SCVAL, 14th fastest of 126 from CCS, and 103rd  of 938 total finishers.
Cupertino has had a girl competitor at this meet only six times in its twenty year history.
Sumika's time and place for the 5K course are the best finishes in both categories for any of our past girl competitors.

CCS Scholastic Fall Team Championship
Congratulations to the girls team for their fourth place finish for girls cross country in the CCS Scholastic
Fall Team Championship.  The award is given by sport and gender. Their team GPA of 3.7840 (unweighted)
also placed them sixth among all fall teams, both boys and girls. This award program goes back to 1985-86
when CHS softball (3.344) won.  Our cross country girls  (3.8571) won in 1994-95,  boys water polo (3.4770)
in 1998-99, and gymnastics (3.6920) in 2001-02. Unfortunately, the CCS web site only lists previous winners
for each sport and not the runner-ups. Although we did not win our sport, we were excellent compared to all of the other teams.
